Question for those with clutch experience...
I guess this guy is imagining it? And maybe i was imagining it too.

The GT2 pedal is stiff....no question about that. In fact I would put money on it not being a majority like. Unlike the conventional weighting of the 997 carrera pedal the GT2 is substantially stiffer. Not saying it cant be driven as a DD but i'm quite certain the greater majority would find the novelty of the stiff pedal wearing very thin after a few doses of stop start traffic. It'd be the kind of pedal you'd really need to try out for a few days of regular driving to be able to decide whether it would be a long termer for you.
In so far as my quoting it as a money spinner. It stands to reason it would be in the vendors best interest who stocks these items to promote their sale. It's called business. Now whether it's in the best interest of the customer.....well I'll leave that one up to each individual user to make that call for themselves. However i would advise from my own personal experience it would be wise to see if you are up to the task. In so far as resale goes. The same thing. How many prospective buyers would prefer the stiff pedal over the lighter pedal? Somehow i think i know the answer to that one already. Porsche would also know hence why they gave the 997tt the assisted pedal in the first place. The same principle of thinking applied to why they didn't use the assist in the GT2. Horses for courses.
I was simply making an observation based on my own personal experience and passed comment accordingly and am now being ridiculed and attacked by a member who i hadn't even addressed my original post to
.
Sorry for passing my opinion.

And here we go again.
Your memory is failing you.
Want to talk about facts?
I never said anything about the 991 coming with Michelin PSS.
I don't know what bearing that has at all on this thread either, even if I did.
I just discussed my real world experience with my 997TT and clutch slave conversion which you seem to have completely ignored, deciding instead to rant about something completely unrelated.
I have no idea WTF you are talking about. You didn't say anything about the clutch slave conversion simply not being a fit for the majority of 997 turbo owners. Moreover, you're responding in a thread to a guy who just did a bunch of things to his car that indicate he's definitely not part of the 'majority' owner club.
You're crazy dude.

In FACT i had made my inquiries through my contacts through Michelin HO and knew the facts...which you didn't like of course....further sending you into a tailspin.
But as usual you always come out swinging name call calling people crazy and so on so forth.....and now denying any of this ever happened.
I even recall a post where you contradicted the hell out yourself about your self proclaimed track prowess and I spelled that out for you as well...which of course resulted in another hissy fit....and a trip to the mods to have a little cry.Incidentally I note PSS are still not N rated and are still NOT standard equipment on 991 LOL. Again, like i said previously, my argument was never about saying the PSS wasnt a good tire however, wanted to remind the facts to those you were trying to have believe these tires were to be N rated and were to be on 991 as standard equip in future.
Sorry OP for taking it off topic but had to remind my good friend here of his silly behaviour.
Yes, silly behavior here. My question was answered and I'm moving forward with the repair/upgrade. Thanks for the help

You will like the sachs set up tho. Just go very easy on it for the first 500. The old flywheels don't take too well unfortunately and need to be nursed back into action with a new clutch. Being a dual mass its basically a throw away especially if there has been some slipping going on beforehand which is usually the case. Refinishing them is something i've never seen successfully done. They are very thin on the face and it takes bugger all to warp the surface so it can make it tough for the new clutch to hang on in the early phase. Most will rough the flywheel face back up with a disc sander first but best case scenario is to just use a new flywheel. Re the slave mod, I'd personally try the new clutch for a few weeks and once it settles in then make the decision ....unless of course you have a bionic leg
.JK PS. Once the Sachs beds in properly you will find the take up point is very predictable.....not all over the place like how the stock clutch felt.

My memory is very good. And, oh yes you did and, on more than one occasion, hence why you got your knickers in such a massive bind when i continually had to remind you that your information was fanciful hearsay and NOT fact at all.

You will find you are unquestionably mistaking me for someone else with regard to that comment.
The PSS tire thread you are referring to did not go well for you at any turn, nor is this one.
You've already been called out here for your initial brash comment about the GT2 clutch slave conversion and your follow-up responses speak for themselves. For the sake of everyone else on this board and your own since you were just unbanned from the forum, please stop posting until you take the time to get yourself together

I never said the 991 was going to come with Michelin PSS tires. I never even implied anything close to that.
