Safe Wheel sizes for '12 TTS
Safe Wheel sizes for '12 TTS
I've searched through the forum but haven't been able to come up with the info.
My current '12 TTS has the Turbo II 5 bolt wheels. I'm looking to change to either a different set of 19" or move up to 20". I live in the GTA and am concerned about our crappy roads (I love the look of the 20" though). I'm still considering the conversion to CL but it's an extra 2k for the conversion. I don't plan on lowering it as I know it will already scrape the front lip. I'm looking for tested setups without rubbing issues.
What wheel dimensions are safe without any suspension/camber adjustment
Front
19 x 8.5 - yes
tire - 235/35/19
19 x 9 - yes
tire - 235/35/19 or 245/35/19?
20 x 9 ?
tire ?
Rear
19 x 11 yes
19 x 12 GT2/3 yes, ? TTS
Tire 305 or 325/30/19 for the 19x11, 345/30/19 for 19x12
20 x ?
Tire?
If I have to go up to 20" tires, any recommendations. Pilot Sport PS2 have good reviews. The pilot Super sport also have great reviews. What about Hankook?
Thanks for all the help

I think 20's will look the best. But you have to lower the car or else it would look weird. There will be more wheel well gap with the lower profile tires. I would go with Super Sports as those are the best street tires available.
Can I fit front 245/35/19 & rear 325/30/19 on my TTS ori rs spyder rims?
Will the wider tyre size cause any rubbing onto fender?
What r the pro & cons on having a wider front & rear tyres?
Thanks

I think changing up the tire and wheel size is a mistake. The folks at Porsche spent a lot of time designing every aspect of the TTS. Going to a wider or larger diameter tire is simply is going to negatively effect every aerodynamic and handling characteristic the car was designed to perform. If plan on driving the car and not showing the car you would be better off buying new wheels (hopefully lighter) with OEM dimensions and keeping the OEM tire size. JMHO.

Got a suggestion for you if you wanna go with 20's all around. A lot of our setups with 20" all around are driven on 911's in NYC roads (which are bad honestly) without any issues. If you want a bit more rubber, a set of 19's is a wise choice.
