For any of you guys out there considering installing a Laser diffuser on your vehicle, I can absolutely confirm they do work very well. Yesterday on a beautiful day, dead flat wide open interstate with no traffic other than a souped up CTSV, the tts pulling hard still at 140 watching the CTS fade in the mirror, I notice the officer in median in the distance, I immediately hit the brakes hard, about a second and a half later, my dash lights up like the 4th of July. There is no way I was doing less than 90 by that time his gun was on me. The system definitely saved a ticket, potentialy a very pricey one. I very rarely open it up, lesson learn I need to slow down but damn the car is so freaking fast.

 

Too many other variables to use that experience as proof that it works.

 

Two possibilities:

1. your jammer worked as intended
2. the cop got a reading but thought that he had no chance of catching up to you and decided to just let you go to avoid a high speed chase

 

#2 sounds unlikely. cops will catch up to you just by putting on the lights. you are obligated to pull over.

to the op, did the cop hit you again with the laser? you may want to setup your system to not jam it twice. otherwise, the cop will look for a jammer. Do you have 9500ci?

 

#2 is not impossible, I have seen it happen once on the road and talked to several State Troopers at work about it as well.

 

I agree there is not enough info to guarantee the system worked, but I say it is always better to have had it and not needed it vs. need it an not have it.

I would never consider running, the unit I have is a K40. That is a great point about setting it up so he can get a reading the second time he tries to tag me. I'm going to have to bust out the owners manual now. My guess is that it worked as intended, his reaction time was good it seemed. Oh well, I'm playing on house money right now...
