Clutch engaging very late - Normal?
SubscribeMine is just like yours. I just had to replace mine and the new one is just like the old one. I still don't understand why it is so high but it is, and yes sometimes I feel stupid of the line as well.
Great to know guys!
Today I was chatting with the OP because I test drove one and it too had a high engagement point.
My 996TT had the same thing

Sounds normal. Clutch will slip if it's starting to go out. The clutch drove me nuts until I started driving the car more
... It becomes easy to get the engagement right if you just drive the thing enough to get it down.

I've been started jumping to about 3k rpm before engaging it just so I don't accidentally stall it if I guess the engagement point wrong.
Looks like everyone finds this annoying. Because I jump in the 7TT maybe once a week and the rest of the time drive a manual 5 series, it takes a while to get used to the TT's clutch pedal each time.
Can anyone confirm whether the GT2 slave cylinder (assuming 996), will lower the clutch engagement point? Also, is it a straight swap of the slave cylinder or is there a kit of parts I need to purchase for the conversion?
Thanks guys.

It is not a straight swap.
You need a few parts and a mounting bracket.
