997.1 without Sport Chrono - is the retrofit worth the $$
Being that he has a CPO car I would not do either until the CPO is expired. I have a CPO car also and want the assurance that if something breaks Porsche will fix it and it will not cost me. When my car is off warranty then I will step up to a 991TT. I know many people are leery of buying a used Porsche Turbo without a warranty that has had the computer flashed.
Well, no. My car is not a CPO. It was just a no-brainer deal that appeared when I was looking to get a "new to me Porsche". I was looking mostly at 996TT but this strange opportunity appeared an just bit the bullet.
But I guess that the flash would be probably the best option(power-wise). I don't know what is the overall opinion but my thoughts are that most Porsche buyers prefer a stock vehicle as a flash is normally associated to a car that has been punished. And that is kind of my concern with doing the flash. The retrofit on the other hand would be "Porsche approved" and would have what some people consider a "must" in a 997TT.
