Hello,
my name is peter and i came from Germany near Zuffenhausen/Stuttgart in the moment i build a new engine for my 997 turbo 4,1l with new upgrade crankshaft 82,5mm stroke, new piston 102,7mm steel cylinder from gt3, and more, more.... iŽll tell from the beginning but DSC_1163.JPG DSC_0742.JPGll |
Interesting!
So what other bits are you doing and why did you decide to change the crank and not go for a slip fit kit? |

Hello Nick,
this is the second attempt with an other crankshaft, the first engine i build 2012 with a crankshaft from Australia, thats not good quality, the flywheel have not the right position, the sizes from rod bearing not corect, oil driling missing, and i have after 350km rod bearing damaged. the steel was not good nitrided and soft. for the summer i rebuild to 3,6l with H beam rods, ported cylinder, Gt2 inlet manifold, upgrade VTG Turbos, exhaust, intercooler Gt2 RS and other parts the result was ok but not enough for me 695 PS and 1100NM Torque (flywheel value) here further pics from the first 3,9l engine (crank with 82,4mm stroke and new pistons 100mm) DSC_0427.JPG DSC_0430.JPG DSC_0433.JPG DSC_0574.JPG |
Why you didnt go with OEM gt3RS 4.0 crank that most of us use..?
|
I would like go a other way, gt3 RS 4 l can anyone
But you`re right there would be less problems |
PKM, I am in Stuttgart as well in Vaihingen. I have an 08 TT. I would LOVE to see your car and your build. I haven't been able to link up with any Pcar owners here ( I am an American and have very limited German language ability).
I would PM you but I don't think you have enough posts yet |
Hi, as written via PM I am from Stuggi as well and building a 997 big VTG Setup at the moment. Looking forward to see your car running.
