If the car was consigned and the dealer never took title then it is in effect a PP transfer and the CPO would be maintained, that's my educated guess anyway.....

How do you know the car was wrecked or had damage. I know Porsche won't CPO a wrecked car or one that has had lots of paint or body work. Scottsdale Porsche has a Turbo S that has an accident on the Carfax and they will not CPO it, in fact it is priced very low because of the accident.

When I checked the car out I did not see the autocheck just the Carfax. Do you have a link.

I got screwed on a 2004 GT3 that had been majorly crashed with no Carfax info about it. I bought it from Ferrari of San Antonio and was assured it was clean car with no accident history. Fast forward about a year and I took it in to trade at Scottsdale Porsche and they had originally sold the car. Knew it had been in an accident and were shocked it was not on the Carfax. I took a 10k loss on the car because of the accident and I am now very careful when I but a car and try to let people know that when they get a great deal on a car this is almost always something wrong with it.

I dealt with the samething i almost got screwed also. A lot of the insurance companies report only autocheck you can get a report for free or look up the vin to alteast see any fishness. The only thing that worries me is someone that sells a porscge turbo for 15k less.

Sorry to hear this car has been wrecked. I think that if the owner had ppi done that would have came up in paint thickness test. I also almost got screwed this way but ppi picked up on re spray.

I learned that lesson and now always have the paint depth checked when I buy a used car and always get a PPI unless I buy it from my local dealer.

If the car was in an accident then I hope the OP returns the car PDQ, seems this Jakes is not as honest as a poster says it is. It is pretty clear that the CPO is worthless which is about a 5k benefit.

no worries my friend......i have a PAID autocheck & carfax that were ran before i signed for the car and it is clear. running the free autocheck only tells you how many reports it has...but not really what's on the report...that you have to pay for.

PPI was done so no worries.... paint thickness check came out clean....a repainted front spoiler lip was detected, but that was something disclosed anyway....actually the car is not that pristine...pictures don't show the scratches here and there....

like one helpful comment said, at the car's age and mileage it should have at least road nicks and rock chips.....and oh boy.... those are all there and quite a few of them..... but was touched up really well....you can see it still but at least it is already the same color as the car

at this point i'm not worried about depreciation and whatsoever....i didn't buy this as an investment...im planning to enjoy this as a daily driver and drive it to the ground if i can!

thank you for the tough love heeheh........peace out!

OP…congrats on your new ride. The aero kit looks great too!

Do some searching around the forum. You'll be amazed at the things you can pick up/learn about your car. For example, did you know that after one week of not opening and or starting your car that the key fob will not unlock the doors?

These cars go into some time of sleep mode and in order to get the key fob back into action you'll need to put the key in the door and unlock it manually. Doing so wakes it up and the remote will now work again.

This of course is critical to know for those who don't daily drive their cars.

Never leave the key in the ignition for an extended amount of time as this will drain the battery. And, should you be unfortunate to experience battery power loss, you'll need to learn how to open the hood manually. There are a couple different ways to do this…you'll find the answers pretty quickly searching around.

Again, enjoy…look forward to hearing about your experience with the turbo.
