Champion modded 997 Turbo S PDK at Drag Strip
Thanks for the vid! That was the worst run of the night..
It was pretty consistently 10.2 on all the other runs. Stil...not bad times for a shake-down run on a car with only 900 miles!
Just built the car, and drove right to the track that night.. We'll be back up there Friday night again to hopefully do something pretty cool with this car...

Ok, but why the mistery??? How much he put??? Its the same tune that you sold or he have something custom???
If you can garranty that with the Champion ICs IPD Plenum, Catless exhaust and 100 oct race fuel my car will put 600whp on a mustang dyno I will buy it right now

Agenda??? I want to buy the best tune out there, if you see my other threads you can see I went to the dyno to baseline, bought the IPD plenum and went to the dyno again, I'm learning about the mods of this plataform...
Right now I'm on the fence between GIAC and COBB, just asking for real proof of this "9 sec file". If you want to spent around $9k on ICs and Tune (w labor) just because somebody tell you is good, be my guest

I am positive Tom will answer as I had inquired information from him on numerous occasions. It's the weekend and Tom usually answers during the week. Webcarconnection got a point about making sure what you are paying for does what it is intended to do. This is the reason I like to Vbox or Pbox the performance after each mod. Dyno's are nice but funny games can be played on the dyno but you can't fool a high resolution GPS. Either your car is traveling faster or it is not it's that simple.
Thats why I'm asking, because they are the only ones that promote the 9sec file... If you have some packg that title "9sec file" at least give to the customers some proof that this pckg can do this from a third party.
Maybe I didn't search enought but the only 9 sec 997.2 with stock turbos that I find that did 9 sec pasess was there own 997.2
Heck I even want to see some 135+ trap speeds from other p-cars with this packg whatever didn't touch the 9s
If Promotive or AMS have some packg that title "9sec" I will be asking this questions to them, trust me...
I dont want to argue but I have the right to ask before I buy, right?
I'm came in peace hehehe

Ok, understood. Good luck in choosing a tuner. Doesn't seem like many people on the 997.2 platform are going out and testing very much, with the exception of very few. You may be hard pressed to find the info you are looking for.
Yes I notice, its seems that is gonna be a little harder than I thought... And coming from the GTR world that a lot of the owners where on the track and dyno all the time for me was easy to choose a Packg (tuner) back then
Hi all...sorry for the delay. It was Easter weekend after all.
So, to answer some of the questions floating around. Longboarder does not have a "special" file. He has the same file that we flash into every other customer's cars, and the one we used in our car when we ran the 9.8 sec 1/4 mile pass. We have flashed this into plenty of other customers' cars, and so far the closest one has come to our time has been 10.00 sec @ 135mph. Not all of our customers (unfortunately) participate in the forums, so sometimes there are other results and opinions that we don't get to hear about. As it sits right now, Longboarder's car for example should be making approximately 600 whp easily on race gas. I don't want to say for sure, because in fairness we have never dyno'ed his car in person, and as we all know, Porsches are notorious for producing a pretty good variation in power output, even completely stock. However, I did attach a dyno sheet from a car with identical upgrades that we recently tested here on our DynoJet....hope that helps shed some light. This car was tested on pump gas, 93 octane.
Also, there is another thing I should mention which I ALWAYS tell customers who say "I want to run 9.8 seconds like your car did!" When we ran that pass, we used 18" Mickey Thompson drag radials on the rear of the car with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires up front. I normally DO NOT recommend using drag radials. They put a lot of extra stress on the transmission and drivetrain...so you have to be prepared for the potential consequences if you do that. Our car did not get damaged in any way, but we only used drag radials for 1 night, and about 15 1/4 mile passes. After that we took them off.
Overall...I usually try not to sound too ****y...but honestly, no one else has touched the performance we have with the 997.2 Turbo. Everyone who tries our flash says that it's above and beyond everything else they've tried. Even with larger GT turbos, no one has come close. Will there eventually be more competition...I hope so, I love this stuff!! But right now...no one can touch what we and GIAC are doing with the DFI turbo cars.
