My small project (997.2 ICs etc)

After a long horrible winter season here in the northeast, I'm finally stretching my arms and legs and just started little project for upcoming spring season. I'm installing 997.2 intercoolers along with BMC filter and Forge BRVs. It is fun to work on my own project. I'm finishing all of these today. My next project will be VTG upgrade sometime in May.

Here are some quick iphone pics.

great!

do take some pics of how you fit that IC with 997.1 parts. I understand that one particular area requires trimming to get it to fit perfectly.

Will you retune your car or do you expect the ecu to adjust with the IC change in time?

Okay I will. I'm following Earl's write up but it is slightly different because 996 and 997 air ducts and brackets are slightly different. I finished passenger side yesterday and it fits almost perfect(99%) after trimming.

Scott from Softronic told me that I don't need retune for this since the ecu will adapt itself. Plus I need to retune my ecu for 63.5 VTG in a couple of months anyway when I upgrade.

+1 on the pics. I'm looking forward to seeing the whole process.

Hope the weather gets better next week.
And after the installation is done, let us know how it runs and sounds.

Finished intercoolers yesterday. Everything went fine. Hoses lined up and connected perfectly and coolers fit tight in the brackets. I still need to install the BMC filter and wrap everything up tonight. I can't wait to test drive it!

Pics are 997.1 IC, uninstalled, 997.2 IC.

SWC,

Good info! Thx

Did you already datalog to get a baseline? What kind of gains are you expecting? What made you decide to go IC's then VTG's later (with a Softronic retune?) vs a complete power package? I'm concidering my next steps.....

Nice color combo, btw
