Question about laser jammer install...

Hey guys.

I've been seeing a lot of laser activity in my area lately and have been zapped a couple times. Fortunately, I was going the speed limit.

I've been thinking about getting a Laser Interceptor front kit.

Just wondering…do I need to remove the front bumper just to install the front jammers? I've been searching the internet and found a couple DIY install guides (one was for a GT3 and one for a C4S) and they removed the front bumper.

To be honest, if that's what needs to be done I'll pass on the jammers. I made a pact with myself that I wouldn't get involved with big installs on my cars anymore…it was taking too much of my time from the family and I always seemed to get into some kind of trouble (broken panel, stripped screw, broken nut, etc, etc )

Thanks!

Make sure you live in a state where that is legal because the cop using the laser will know if your car is jamming him and pull you over and cite you.

Yes, for sure….live in GA and FL…both legal.

BYW, anyone just use 3M automotive tape and stick the heads on the slits below the LED/turn signal?

Installing it SUCKS! these cars a are really tight. I did not take off the front bumper and used 3m to fasten below the turn signal lights. It was a HUGE PITA. Honestly I like installing my own mods however this is one I would not do again. Only send it to a really good shop the because you are guaranteed they are going to break something.

In general, I don't like shops touching my cars for mods. I've had a couple bad experiences in the past. I either install it myself or not at all. Ever since I bought the Turbo S I've been especially finicky about the car...more than I probably should be.

Can you tell me what part was the most PITA?
How long was the install?

Thanks!
