Production numbers of Turbo S vs Turbo
Production numbers of Turbo S vs Turbo
Folks,
Does anyone know the production numbers for 997 Turbo S (11-13) vs 997 Turbo, (07-13)? The question behind my question is; is there any future rarity to the S, especially given Porsche has launched the 991 TS at the same time as the base Turbo. Appreciate any speculative thoughts...
JS.

Rarity as in added value ?
In 10 years time you'll pay more for a turbo manual '10 than for a turbo S '12.
And even more for a 2009 manual.
So buy what you like and enjoy. No future value in 997 PDK. Newer models will only get better and 997's will be just 'old'.
The manual being 'the last' will become collectible.
Of course imo, not gospel.

I don't think they will be worth much more because they made lots of 997.2TTS over 3 years as compared to the 996, 993 and 964 end of model run S versions which few were made for one model year at the end of the run thus keeping their value much higher. I think you will see them worth as much as a 996 TTS is over a standard 996TT, few grand for the options and HP boost but nothing like the collectability of the 993 and 964 S versions.

With how great the PDK is I think the Tip market will be very soft and hard cars to unload as time progresses. These cars are getting so quick, 0-60 in under 3 seconds makes the PDK the best trans for the car.
I disagree, because you might not have the PDK but at least you are considerably faster than a manual. I think the 6sp market is going to drop considerably more than a tip or PDK. PDK might be the gucci but theya re going to stay $$ for a while. PDk cars are going for 20k more than 6sp or tips. The biggest downer for a Tip is the Uninformed that never drove one and try to tell everyone they are a purist for getting a 6spd.
Tips have the engine to be modded and a modded tip is still going to be faster than a 6spd with more power.
Get the flappy paddles to work on the tip and a 6sp will drop to 911 4S PDK money
