My indie and I actually talked about this (he has the "double round" tips) and he pointed out the passing resemblance to the 996 tips... retro chic!

Thanks, while stock looks good I felt they were somewhat bland. I appreciate the feedback.

9LVN_TT is infamous around these parts
I prefer the OEM look. The "double round" tips are starting to grow on me....like the BBI tips that someone mentioned here earlier.

I prefer the OEM exhaust tip; they match the curve of the tail lights. But if you really want to change them, then the ovals look better if same size. I dont like the ones with different size ovals.

Kline has a double square setup I've been thinking about. They also seem to be on Ebay. Any change in the sound or tone? I'm thinking I would do it if there is any change in tone, although I doubt there will be. Interestingly, I think Porsche sells a double square tip set in Germany, but I've never seen them here.

I like the OEM. I thought about the double gun barrel for a few minutes when I bought my car, but I think the OEM fits the look of the tail lights and space they are in best (and in black on certain color cars).

Thanks 07_RS4. Having seen them in person, "double round" tips are quite nice. I saw the BBI tips on their 650HP built turbo...looked good.

Great observation. The different size ovals was to accommodate the increased diameter of the 997.2 exhaust tube (vs. 997.1) leaving little room in the exhaust port for an equally sized second oval. Maverick had a similar comment. Thanks

Thanks Donnelly. Consensus appears to be favoring stock...

That's certainly one way to look at it, however numerous mods are for looks and not strictly performance-related (e.g., 20" inch wheels, carbon fiber bits, aftermarket audio, tail light conversions etc...the list is endless)...although you could argue all those are a waste of $$ as well...LOL

Another vote for stock, I'm getting a clear message...thanks Tom

I agree, the OEM tips certainly fills the exhaust space better and the lines are consistent with general flow of the rear (i.e., tilted upwards on the outer edges). Well I'm glad I retained the stock tips...back on (along with stock exhaust) when I'm ready to sell the car. Thanks Michael.

Great question, I haven't noticed a meaningful change in the sound with the TA's on vs. stock. I think if the tips made a difference in the sound, Stef would make his own tips to optimize the tone...I doubt they would allow the sound of their EP exhausts to be so easily influenced by a simple tip switch

Those look nice (stock look w/ weight savings and dark in color to boot...perfect for a black turbo)! Expected price point please.
