Convince me into a Turbo
I come from numerous sports and sporty cars over the last 25+ years, including 6 Ferraris, a Viper, an M3, Mustang, 6 M5s, Audi S5, a 1988 911 Cab, 993 and 991C2S to my current 997.2 TT-S, and will keep my both TTS and 911Cab for a long time. TTS as DD and 911Cab as weekend toy. Once you feel the acceleration of a TTS, there is no substitute. I use the TTS as my DD, ~50 mile RT commute, in the North Atlanta area and the TTS is comfortable, has all the options you could possible wnat, gets good mpg and an absolute BLAST to drive. Test drive a TTS and you will buy one.

As others have said test drive the bmw and then the turbo to make up your mind. One drive in the turbo and she was at my house. Fantastic machine!
I put an ECU flash on mine and was 3.0 seconds 0-60 and 11.2 in the 1/4 mile verified using the Vbox. (With the 1 foot rollout turned on, with it on I was .2 seconds quicker)
Edit: 1 foot rollout turned on

If you need to be convinced, it may not be the car for you.
Different strokes. There is no "same right answer" for every person's values and sensibilities.
Test drive all of the cars on your radar, and your choice should be more obvious.

This is the one I referred to in my post.
I also have the travellite verson of just the seat cushion. The former (linked here) is the one I praised. The lumbar cushion can be adjusted for as much curvature as you like.

Having daily driven a E92 M3, Panamera GTS, and a C63 507 coupe, I will say if you need the technology and creature comforts of BMW, you will not enjoy the TT or TTS for long, unless you go with a ridiculously expensive 991. I have my 997.2 as my Fri-Sun car with my MB as Mon to Thurs car. While I could do my 997.2 everyday, I know would get annoyed at little things like space, blah stereo, lack of keyless entry, lack of back up camera, etc. I know I would blow $4K on a new stereo system at the least.
But again, my priorities put performance further down the list, which is why I have never really modified my cars.

I actually had a reservation/deposit for a new M4 and cancelled it when realized the performance was barely much more then a 507 C63. If i dont go the true sports car route then it will be an F10 M5 with a decent amount in mods but I feel like im truly a 2 door kind of guy. Thanks everyone for the input. Makes me feel a lot more comfortable in my decision. Now i just need to get off my *** and drive my car to our local dealer and put it on consignment..
i have an m5 f10, m5 v10 st2, isf,rs6 st2,GTR st2,x5m st2, before, my sister have 335 and many friends too, 997 turbo is another level of perfomance and everything you must test drive stock and tune if you can because stock and tune 997 turbo is two different cars at all...and if the car is not everyday use car you must take 997.1 turbo and make good tune deep if you want and it will give you much Fun...
I think the OP seems to think that BMW is above porsche and he needs it to meet the BMW standard. Which is almost a bit amusing. BMW might be the ultimate driver experience for cars not named Lamborgini, Porsche, Ferrari, and the supercars that are low quantity.
However trying to compare a 911 turbo to a BMW 3/4 series, even M car leaves one flabbergasted.

amusing thread. you shouldn't need anyone to "convince" you. Go test drive a few and if you find it to meet your expectations then I think the folks here can answer a lot of questions for you with respect to their ownership experience. But beyond that, the choice starts and ends with you.

My experience with BMW was M cars and they rattle after 3 months, the SMG II was a joke and I would NEVER recommend buying one. Their later models were better but they took out the ultimate driving expereince of the E36/46 years.
I have leased 5 BMWs for my household: X3, 528i, X6, M3, 535GT. Great cars. Not sure about the blanket "ultimate driving machine" statement, but included maintenance, solid tech, bundled options, good performance, solid build quality are pretty fair for the brand. I have leased Audis and MB as well, and they are all fairly equal in my experience in terms of build and quality. However, the build of my short lease of a Panamera GTS was the best. Really solid car.
Let me just leave this here: I like my e92 M3 a lot more than my 997.2 TTS. The M3 is a much better car in almost every respect. The only thing the 911 has on a stock M3 DCT is power and brakes...and I fixed that
These aren't just my sentiments. A lot of my buddies who ride in both are just blown away with the M3.

Stock vs. stock the 911 turbo does have vastly more power and vastly better brakes. You can certainly improve the power and brakes on the e92 M3 with aftermarket equipment but the Turbo doesn't need a brake upgrade and power can be added much more easily than the M3. Beyond that the M3 has a poor weight distribution with a slight front heavy bias vs. a rear weight bias that is superior for track driving. 50/50 sounds good for magazine ads, but there are solid reasons a rear bias is superior for a track car. While a mid-engine configuration is ideal a rear engine placement is still superior to front engine. Finish up with the fact that a m3 looks pretty vanilla next to a 911 and worse still looks very similar to that basic 3 series that BMW popped out over 2 million copies of in a 5 year run. In short it just doesn't seem all that special.
Those are my sentiments.....
