Yeah you and Ken will take care of all the bolt-on gtr's and I'll do my best with the big boys. Those gtr's on the list are really 1800whp. They're sandbagging!

I think Shift Sector had us give them WHP numbers. So if you are 1,500 wheel you should do great with that group because of your weight savings advantage and aero, slightly (very slightly) disadvantaged by the 6MT. But if you are going to be 1,500 crank then that's a huge power disadvantage.

My car should make about 1570 wheel horsepower to be exact. I have a sequential now, not a 6 speed.
Yeah srry I remembered you were going with a sequestial which is why I said "very slightly". The GTRs and Lambo's have the single clutch automated system which I presume should still shift a bit faster than you can on a sequential. But I'm not 100% sure of the shift speeds. |

I'm not sure exactly what shifts faster with the sequential vs the dct. I do know the Hefner lambo there that did 221 has a holinger as well.
Either way I'm really hoping your car is done for Shift Sector. If not, you should check out NoFlyZone is running November 15th in Bakersfield. It's a smoother track than Coalinga and they have trap speed lights as well. They just generally have lower HP cars than Shift Sector but it will be a great place for you to practice. |

The Lambos are a single clutch system, but the GT-R has a DCT that shifts lightning fast.

The Lambo's and GTR's come stock with the single clutch systems which have proven to be easier to modify for higher power applications but don't shift as fast as the dual clutch systems like the ///M Getrag DCTs or the Porsche ZF-built PDKs. Good to know that Lambo also had a sequential which means it's an improvement over the modified stock single clutch automated trans and maybe with practice it shifts just as fast.

It should be done. Fab is finished and the engine just needs to be assembled now. I will post pics tonight. No Fly Zone in Cali has very little shut down room I heard. |

The single clutch definitely shifts slower than a sequential does. Gtr's do have a dct, that's why the trans always breaks. The lag between shifts on the single clutch helps take stress off the trans.

Watch at 6:00 of my NFZ vid where I ran a 880 wheel Supra and he stayed on it well past the cones and so he needed the run off beyond the turn-in to stop. No drama. So if you ran there, you should just use the left hand lane. |

No there is plenty of cement run off, unlike Coalinga which is dirt with huge holes which is why the ETS GTR rolled.

That was the SPE Godzilla GTR that rolled.
Looks like he goes into grass? Or is that still runway? Anyway it's a combination of old cement and some grass growing out of it but the surface is drivable and won't mess up your car in case that you can't stop in time. The airstrip surface on the other hand is butter smooth. It was repaved just before the March event. |
