Center Locks...your dealer experience will hopefully vary
no. they should all sit the same.
Thanks for the picture, I got the CL because I think they looked kool as hell. Since learning about them, I am a little afraid of them. I guess I need to invest some $ and Time learning about these.
Where is the best place to be shown if the dealer is questionable? I have no reason to believe mine is questionable, but did you guys watch a video that is definitely correct? There seems to be a bunch of miss-information out there.
I have changed a tire myself many times but never messed with CL's

I was afraid also, but no longer. Owner's manual confirms the proper positioning of the lock, but for me it was difficult to follow the narrative in the owners manual without actually engaging in the process of removing and replacing the wheel. Otherwise it was confusing for me.
Can you post a picture of your rears?
Also, are you able to move them if they are not seated properly? Or they would be stuck?
I find it strange that both my rears are exactly the same, and both my fronts are the same. But the rears are not all the way to the edge like the fronts are. And I can push the rears inwards with my fingers just like the fronts too.

Can't wait
My 15 TTS, with CLs is due to be delivered to me Friday. I bought all the tools and grease and can't wait to "mess" with them. I'll be doing somewhat frequent changes between the factory wheels and the 21" HREs
!
Thanks for all the good info here.

Alright I took some pictures of my Center Locks.
Here's a picture of the Front, BOTH fronts are like this:

I'm able to push it in, and with the Center Lock removal tool I can get it to pop back out.
Now, here's a picture of how BOTH rears are, and how much I'm able to push them in, and they come back out, but neither of them seem to come back out all the way to the edge, which is why I ask if the rears sit a little deeper.

This is how much I can push it in, and notice the vein right where it sits when I let go of it?

I don't think the rears sit all the way at the edge. If you can please check yours and let me know. This is how mine are.
Let me know!

Hi Mario,
I just checked all of mine and the fronts and rears are all the same and extended out all the way exactly like your picture of both fronts. Many times mine will stop in the intermediate position just like you have shown on the rears. To fix this I use a Craftsman 1/2 inch universal joint drive, part number 4425. Looks like this:

This allows me to jiggle the locking mechanism left and right while slowly reducing outward pressure allowing the mechanism to extend out. If it does not, keep trying and rotate the lock a little left or right and try again.
This procedure and tool was demonstrated to me by a friend that is a Porsche tech. (Actually the Tech used a Snap-on equivalent)
The rears are definitely NOT engaged properly IMO.

How do you fix it with that tool Walt?
I'll have to check mine. I don't have my tool to remove the wheels, I have the Center Lock tool but not the big one to loosen them up.
I guess I have to rotate a little bit the nut for it to come out to the edge?

I don't think you have to move the nut to get it to release. Just try pushing them in slightly as you have in one of the pictures, then jiggle it back and forth ever so slightly (clockwise and cclockwise) as you let it go. They may return to flush with that kind of movement. Mine do.
I felt the same way, until I got the tools, and started messing with the CLs myself. I assume there are fewer CL wheel options out there on the market, but other than that my fears have been assuaged.
