While I fell this is understood without being said.... A trickle charger should be fine and appropriate only if your not already dealing with a very weak to start with. I would have the trickle on all night or day prior if it's not a daily driven car. And leave it while flashing. Fans will run for around 5-10 min. If you battery is weak to start with, I would pull out a proper charger instead.

Hearing all those great reviews on FVD I ordered the exhaust and a tune from Rhonda today. Should have everything installed by next weekend. Can't wait!

You wont regret it. Changes the car completely into a rocket. Sort of like driving a hypercar and makes the turbos responsive. A few months back akunob vouched for FVD and I went and bought the tune shortly after, totally no regrets and I find myself day dreaming and thinking about my car when im on business travel. before I even thought about selling the car for an r8, but with the renewed life, I will keep it for atleast 4-5 years.

I will do another review 6 to 12 months for reliability.

Do you also have the FVD exhaust?
Looking forward to the install. It should be a nice DIY. Will post my first impressions.

You are going to be ecstatic! I love the FVD sound, great turbo whistle!!! I watched many videos for exhaust in my quandary. I ended up getting a used Cargraphic race system from a member here, but I was trying hard to trip into a deal on an FVD system. I'm not at all dissatisfied... But if I were shopping today I would still buy the FVD exhaust, what a great combo! Did you get a catless system or with 200 cel? I really liked the delivery and all of the positive feedback I found which made me pull the trigger on the tune. All I can say is enjoy... And start putting aside clutch money if you haven't already upgraded it. The stock clutch won't hold it for long.

Happy turboing.

Thanks, I went with the 200 cel. I was worried the catless might of been too loud. Did you change the clutch?

wont be upgrading the exhaust until maybe atleast 3months of driving with tune. I like to upgrade slowly.

I was told that the pdk can handle up to about 650hp.

Catless is loud most of the time (not always), and I think it would be on the FVD (in person, outside the car). If your not going for "pretty damn loud" i think you made a wise choice. My car is pretty aggressive sounding but that is what I was going for. And yes, the clutch did start to give out and was replaced just yesterday. I could have milked the stock clutch if I babied my car... But that's not how I roll. I had no desire to drive it if I couldn't make at least a couple solid pulls every drive.

How many miles do you have on your TT? I just bought mine about a month ago with 2,500 miles. Would you think I can get another 10k with the tune?

What year is your car? With that low miles you could stretch it a while if you are nice to your car I'm sure. The only caveat is that the new tq can over power the stock clutch capability. I doubt miles matter all that much... If it can't handle more tq it simply won't. Like I said. If you drive it more conservatively it will last longer, that said you will also notice it less if your not aggressive but it will start in time. Part of the game! All that said I am not a tech, but do have a logical understanding of how it is. And I stay at holiday inn last night.

I did the FVD tune last weekend. Just plugged in a $25 battery tender I have for a motorcycle to the car and proceeded.

I have to admit ... I'm about as savvy as a bowling ball with the computer flash down load. Took me a couple times to get the oem 'stuff' from the port to the Genius tool. But, the folks at FVD AG got the tune back to me pretty quickly. Less than 24 hours.

Took me a couple days to get ready to do the tune up load, but did so and that process went without a hitch. Even with my lame ability.

I have to say ... the FVD tune is spot on for my needs. The car is obviously much quicker in every way. And, that's a good thing. I have an upgraded 200 cell cat exhaust, that sounds grand and with the FVD tune ... well, it's keeping me from spending another $175K on a new car !

The car has been reborn ! Anybody on the fence, just do it !

Who is this Rhonda person and how do I get in contact with her? Is buying from her less money then buying off FVD website?

Thanks!

Rhonda is the contact person for FVD, one of the sponsors for this site. You can PM her. She's truly great to deal with, and a true Porsche enthusiast. She can talk to you for hours if you let her, especially on the phone . As a 6speed forum member, you do get 10% off their pricing. Talk to her. You won't regret it.

Check other tunes also, you might get a better deal. Things have changed since 2014. If I were doing it again, I go COBB. I do have the FVD tune.
