Cobb Tuned 997.2 Turbo Takes Podium Finish at Optima Challenge!!

After SEMA the BBI boys took the Cobb Tuned Porsche's to the Optima Shootout to race against 100 of the fastest street cars in the country. While they didn't finish in first place they did manage a 3rd place! Not bad for a car driven to the event with a baby seat in the back!

This was the fastest Porsche of the event by a decent amount as well!

This car was setup by BBI Autosport and is just a stock turbo PDK Turbo S with suspension tuned by Joey at BBI( which is amazing), intercoolers, IPD plenum and Y pipe and Cobb Accessport tuned by yours truly. Driven by BBI's very own Betim B.

I thought I read a bunch of posts calling IPD plenum a waste of money. Does it actually work? Does BBI vouch for it?

Opinions vary depending on the platform. The overwhelming consensus is that it DOES work in the 997.2 turbo.

I definitely felt a difference with it installed.

Congrats to BBI and Cobb for the accomplishment!

I mean the concepts/engineering all make sense to me when I read the marketing literature...I was surprised to even read bad things about it.

Anyways...congrats guys. Sorry for the thread jack

that looks like such a great time....on a side note..would you tune that car reason being that's it's running at the track diffrent then your street setup...is it a more progressive boost set up...or is what yout street tunes would look like...

Generally track tunes are dialed in a little less aggressive since the heat from constant abuse can take a toll. So to answer your question yes

Wow 3rd place out of 100 cars is a terrific accomplishment. Well done guys. I think they did finish first place in a similar event with Eric's car in the past but I forget which event. Just shows that the 997.2 platform still isn't that bad even though the 991 chassis is more sorted.

Porsche never made a 997.2 GT2 RS AWD. But if they did it would be Eric's car. I just have a few more tweaks from BBI and mine will be there shortly
