Great vid as always, but what is going on with the 6 speed manual 997tt? Even with crappy shifting, given the mods and on E85 that car should be a closer race or should of pulled you top side. Both your car and Kenromeros (997.1tt auto) car beat it pretty bad.

Given the comparison of the ZR1 (which is also manual) which seems to be the same ZR1 you both raced (video on Kenromeros thread). ZR1 jumps on Kenromeros car, then he comes around it and pulls it pretty good. ZR1 turns out to be your closest race which makes sense since Kenromeros car starts pulling top side.

So figuring the ZR1 is putting down at least 600whp and manual, then you have the 997tt with 660whp and manual, but gets pulled on pretty bad, well either the driver is going easy, SUPER slow shifter or something is up with the car.

Can't wait to see your results with the fueling sorted out. If your car wasn't an animal before, it will be soon. All this and still on warranty, priceless .

That blows, would be awesome to run one!

Makes even more sense why the close race, else you would of stretched him more on top end and YES that driver can shift!!

Very impressive - loved watching this, thanks for posting. What does your car run in the 1/4? Also, are you planning on any more mods?

Thanks.

I don't have any 1/4 mile passes on my "Stage 2" setup. The only 1/4 mile pass I have was "Stage 1" with the GIAC tune and IPD plenum only on stock tires. I went twice and best I did was 10.66 at 130.3 on a mix of pump 91 and MS109 to yield approximately 100 octane the first time, and then I did a 10.64 at 129.7 on a mix of pump 91 and pump 97 (VP 101 out of the pump is 97 motor octane) to yield approx. 95 octane on the second time.

I plan to visit the drag strip when I get my car back to 24psi (or more), which hopefully will be achieved through a fueling supplement that vendor Emmanuele Design almost has completed However I have no plans for additional hardware modifications other than the fueling and tuning. In this form I would expect to trap 136-137+, particularly since I have a vBox 1/4 mile trap that I did at another airstrip event in October 2014 where I went 135.7 mph (averaged NHRA trap which is a terminal trap of 136.8). This was done on only 20psi on a pump 91 tune using race gas on a warm airstrip tarmac. I'm expecting ET of 10.1 to 10.5.

The only issue for me is that the only NHRA drag strip I have access to is 200 miles from my house and is notorious for being a "slow" track so I am very unlikely to break into the 9's like the other GIAC Champion cars have done. Plus, this track is closed for a while and the next event is not until February 28, 2015.

Yeah. You can actually see what happens when the car fuel cuts. Check out my vid below from a two day airstrip event. Saturday I ran 24psi and was getting fuel cuts. Sunday I ran 20psi no fuel cuts.

On Saturday runs it would fuel cut generally in the higher gears (4th and 5th over 6K rpm) but sometimes even in 2nd and 3rd gear. When the fuel cuts would occur, the car would hesitate and blow black smoke from the unburnt fuel.

He isn't fuel cutting from making 24 psi in the low end of the range, that is just the file type he was running. Fuel cuts with this file typically occur in higher speeds, under high load, higher in the RPM band and are perfectly repeatable. In his case, it seems the the Y-pipe made them even occur at lower speeds as well.

No ****? LOL... Been busy on work with NO time to enjoy my toy, a few month back during our R&D on the COBB stage 3 we notice the "fuel hesitation" above 22-23 psi... I know that some vendor is working on a "upgrade fuel system" and your gonna try it, let me know how it goes because there are a few of us with this pronlem

I'm not doing the secondary injector fueling system proposed by BBI but that will be necessary if I ever decide to upgrade to the 68's.

For now I'm just going to try to band aid something in hopes that I can run the 24psi file without it fuel cutting. If that doesn't work then maybe I will work with BBI for their solution.

That 24psi file on race mode was like crack and I want more

I can seriously see myself with this problem. My car will be very identical to your setup next week, so I definitely want to know what will fix the fuel issue. I'm so pumped to run 21-24psi. Especially since stock doesn't do it for me anymore please share your experience with the Emanuelle Design solution.
