How to install new headlight ballasts?

This might be a really easy job, but does anyone know how to do this, or where I might find instructions on how to do do this? I'm looking at doing a 997.1 to 997.2 dynamic headlight swap. I've looked online and can't find anything.

k-lo is infamous around these parts
i think it's more involved than just installing new headlight ballasts. I read somewhere the new headlights need to be programmed to the car.

Hi k-Lo,

Oh yeah, I am aware. One step at a time... I need to get these ballasts on first! I've done my research though.

After that, install the new bulbs and the lights should work fine, minus the self-leveling and Cornering functions. Just straight forward manual lights, low beams and highs.

I'll also need to get the porsche on the PWIS at a dealer to fix the warning message that will pop up, "headlight beam adjustment faulty". I need the dealer to use the PWIS to tell the ecu that "you have the Cornering function" to clear this warning.

I'll also need to manually set the height of the beam, the instructions are in the owners manual for this.

That should be it I hope. Lose the self-leveling function but gain what I think are the most perfectly designed 911 headlights yet.

Cool. Maybe parts diagram of 997.2 can show you where the new ballasts go? Do keep us updated on your progress. Good luck.

Edit I did find a diagram with the parts but doesn't say where the ballasts goes.

Hey cool, thanks K-lo.

Actually I think the ballast is number 5 in the diagram!
