Word on the internet is the fire was started by friction.

Bad vehicle investment rubbing up against a good insurance policy.

This happened to a friends 993 turbo a some years back. They blamed the power steering or something. With all that heat from the engine, exhaust and transmission all in basically the same place, I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often

That would ruin most Porsche owners days. I would be so upset as I plan on keeping the car for the foreseeable future. I like the look and shape better than the 991 and having to part with it in this manner would be sad.

because since approximately 1982, every auto manufacturer on the planet has warranted their vehicles to run on ethanol blends of up to 10%.

Pretty straight forward.

I’m not a fan of ethanol, as the mandate is one of the dumbest things in government. But occasionally truth needs to get woven into the story.

Ethanol certainly has a cleansing effect, but automakers have that baked into their warranties, and into the component structure of their products, and have had for decades.
