Question on PCM, AUX and Bluetooth
Ok makes more sense now: that *is* an aftermarket component in your car, and your 2008 Turbo (like mine) as expected, has PCM 2, not 3.
Maybe others could chime in as far which one it is that you have - I do not know. BTW, I believe both of the conversion kits often mentioned on this forum, Dension and MoBridge, have the true high quality, hardwire connection Aux input that you are looking for. For sure there is one in my MoBridge.
Although the phone function of my MoBridge is perfect, the audio is not (has a faint beeping sound) so if I have to do it again, I probably would pick Dension. But keep in mind there are people here who have problems with Dension too - nature of these complicated aftermarket mods, and the reason why 2009 997.1 Turbo is more desirable with its PCM 3.

I have the same system, professionally installed and no issues whatever. I also had the Bose amplifier replaced with a plug and play amplifier that just came out last year. My installer got a used wiring harness, so that the wiring harness on my car wasn't cut at all. Amazing work, great sound and finally phone bluetooth in the car as well, something I was really looking for.
Darn it (for me)
- I thought the beeps happen to everyone with MoBridge. May I ask which year your MoBridge model is? Recently bought/installed or a few years old, like mine?
The beep I am talking about only occurs when I use the Ipod - turn volume real loud and in between songs I hear a 1 hz (around once every second) faint beep. You do not have this beep with Ipod?? (Same question for AP328.)

I don't have mobo but trying turning off the display scroll. I think when the characters are scolding off the screen it may contribute to the beep. This used to happen on my M3 when I used the DICE module

Thanks Dennis - yours seems to be a newer and different version from mine.
So I could edit my original thread - that newer MoBridge doesn't have the beep with Ipod use? For future users - I don't plan to change mine.

Dension works great if you don't wire it like they recommend. I you do, you will be sorry you did:-). I have mine working perfect with an old firmware! Excellent not one bug....after I wired it correctly.
Aftermarket?

you are partially correct. While it is an added on fix, it is not aftermarket. Its is the porsche factory way of adding an aux to the 2008 997.1 turbo. I have the exact same system and like the op, i hate it because of the noise. Its also , just for streaming music and has no phone call ability.
Im starting to sound like i work for these guys, but i assure you that i don't. Isimple tranzit blue . $70 for the part . $100 to install. Loved it so much, i just put one in my m3. To match the unit in my 911. Love it.

Loved it so much, i bought another unit from amazon for my m3. Had the same shop install it.
