Service requirements based on age
We have a great amount of DIY Tech Articles here that you can read up on that will help you learn a bit more about your Porsche and its basic maintenance. We also have basic maintenance parts (as well as a bunch of others here), here for when it comes time to do them.

If you are asking if lowering the motor is absolutely necessary, I would say it is not, but does make it much easier, and only adds a few minutes to the job. I see no reason not to. You do not have to have a lift to lower the motor...just a support. We are talking about lowering it CM's not removing it.

Did you look at the DIY I wrote up linked above? I outlined the entire process.

What is CM?
Thanks
Yes I did and it was a great write up. Which led me to ask the question about lowering the motor. If it's not much time then definitely worth lowering the engine. So the engine is held by the 2 mounts at the back. Unbolt the 4 bolts and it will drop down a little using a jack?

I posted an engine Lowering DIY HERE also, but yes...Support motor with something like a jack, and there are only two (18MM (milimeter) nuts) that hold the mounts to the engine hanger and you just lower to about the bottom of the bolts. You will also want to loosen the exhaust clamps so it can move down with motor and not put stress on it.

Yes...Def worth the little extra time to not bust up your knuckles or break something. CM = Centimeter.

Update to my original question:
After reading a bit here, and discussing with my service rep and senior mechanic, i did the full major service with a brake flush. No coolant changes needed. I did plugs largely because they can seize over time and had been an issue with my mechanic on similar cars
No issues with any of the service items, but the car seems to run a bit smoother, plugs ? software updates? who knows
All i know is that there is no more snow on the ground and i can finally get out there in my car
