Have seen lots of people moving on from Porsche to other brands, I think Porsche has priced themselves out of allot of people's budgets. I know that to replace my 2010TT Cab would cost well over 200k.

i think thats a pretty accurate statement

for me its not about the $, its about having a car sit around for 7 months not being used that only i drive

with some "new" drivers in my family, its best to move on for now

Rs5 is a good car, but you'll be back.
Re the cost comment, I think a lot of people do draw the line at a 200k dd regardless of whether they have the means or not. Porsche has priced themselves out of the market to a certain degree, of course they still sell buttloads.

I definitely think Porsche is pricing themselves out of the market. My TTS coupe alone optioned equivalently goes from 185k to 210k.

Then forget about the regular turbo model or the regular C2/C4/GTS models. The only one to me that seems like a good bang for buck is the GT3 and GT3 RS. But at 200k the GT3 RS is expensive too. Fully optioned it should have been 185k.

I think the market dictates pricing for Porsche. Porsche will always push their prices up until the point the "market" pushes back, ie reduced sales #'s.

Problem with that is the people making 1million+ or close to that per yea,r and aren't over exerting themselves elsewhere, will buy these cars regardless of the price increase.

That is unless they encroach on ferrari/lamborghini territory.

So these people carry the sales, which then makes it so other people get pushed out of the new market. Then we all have to wait for used ones. Porsche is dumb. They love volume more than anything.

They should keep prices lower, number 1 to steal market share from everyone else, and number 2 because there are a lot more buyers with less than 1m income than there are above that point.

Really they are out to maximize profits, not top-line revenues. Porsche is already the most profitable major automaker so is obviously quite good at this. Sometimes lower volume at a higher price point is the optimal model.
