I would go with Forced Performance's new Xona Rotor Turbos. Much better quality than PTE.

I don't have any yet. I don't think it's worth replacing a perfectly good turbo unless you were wanting to anyway - but if you are in the market I wouldn't buy anything else.

PTE certainly had quality control issues in the past. Although i never had issues with neither of my 3 PTE sets, i know someone that did.... On the flip side mine worked great. My FP turbos worked great too...

i dont know about ahead or not. FP HTA and now HTZ are certainly top shelf products. however with the 6466 PTE Gen2 wheel design really jumped ahead of FP and FP had to play some catch up there and thats how the 6466 HTZ came about. i have not seen a head to head of the PTE 6466 and the FP HTZ 6466 so i will not comment on that.

big plus to PTE is that they do not need to be water cooled and have a longer center section for better wheel balance.

i would really like to see some of these new XONAs at work on a Porsche !

I am looking at upgrading and it seems to be a go to after talking to my builder.

Much better turbo from my research. Its also water and oil cooled and Precision is air and oil cooled only. Also they improve on some of the downfalls of Garrets turbos on the Xona's. Overall I think I am going to change over.

There's a lot of things actually. The most obvious is that the HTA/HTZ compressor wheel aero seems to flow more than the equivalent PTE billet wheels. The new Xona ball bearing center cartridge is stainless, and a completely new design. It allows for variable bearing preload, which the Garrett cartridges everyone else is using don't do. It's really quite something, these things flow better than anything else out there and will take a beating harder than anything else out there. The pricing is very reasonable as well.

Combine that with compatibility with FP/TiAL products - like the bolt on Alpha turbine housings, TiAL V-band housings, etc. in my opinion your crazy buying anything else.

I don't think they have Xona bolt on parts for the 911 yet but something tells me they are working on it.
