997.1 turbo slight rough idle at start up

When I start my car from cold, it idles a bit rough. Meaning the idle is not consistent at one RPM and vary +- 300rpms. In my past cars, I would clean the idle control valve along with all the intake components and would idle perfectly.

Do our cars come with an idle control valve? Or is there something I should address?

I get this a bit.

It typically starts at 1000rpm, bounces for about 5 seconds, and then evens out at 1100rpm until the SAI shuts off.

I'm bumping this thread as I currently have the same symptoms on cold start-up. Any ideas? RPM's fluctuate +/- 200 until warm. I've cleaned maf, air filter, no boost leaks. Now what?

Stock or tuned?

In the process of changing plugs and coils now. Maybe it will help

It will help....Also consider cleaning around the plate in the throttle body...The plat that moves, gets gunked up around the edges, and stays stuck a little. I have found that cleaning that with some MAF cleaner, or Carb Cleaner helps.

Good luck.

Check your car's owners manual for any e-Gas calibration operation. AFAIK E-Gas systems require periodic calibration, which is done after a battery replacement but can be done at other times. Sometimes the tech will do this when the car in for service.

If the calibration operation is documented you should give this a try just to see if it helps. If it does then that's great. If it doesn't then at least you know.

Hmm... I cleaned both MAFs and also the connector on the MAFs. It works in my case.
