Aftermarket shift-rod linkage

Has anyone tried the metal shift-cable ends from THMotorsports or Patrick Motorsports?

I installed a Numeric Racing shifter assembly in my car and the change was HUGE,.. especially in the left to right axis.

I could however notice that most all of the remaining slop was coming from the cable ends, where they attached to the shifter.

Many have done the GT3 cup cables,.. and the results are mixed. Great feel, no slop,.... but more NVH, and they're a pain to install.

Sooooo,.. I found these and they seem like they might be worth a shot.

I did a search and nothing came up.

I'm not exactly sure how it attaches on the stock cable end. The groves on the cable ends aren't threads as far as I know,.. so I wouldn't think these would screw on. Just press all the way home? JB Weld them in there? Not sure. No instructions on the sites that I can see. I'll call tomorrow and ask them I guess.

.

Spoke to TH Motorsports.

It wasn't real clear to them how it installed.

The guy thought it likely slipped on and was retained with an Allen set-screw on the side,.. which would mean that it would muck up the grooves on the cable-end. Which would mean that you couldn't go back to stock later.

Also,.. he didn't think they reduced slop much,.. as most of the slop is in the socket / ball connection,.... and this snaps over the ball like the stock one does.

So,... other than "perhaps" being stronger,.. there's no advantage that I can see.

I just looked at some close up pictures of the Numeric shifter kit. I do not see a way this shift rod linkage would work with the Numeric kit or that its needed in that case but anyone is free to correct me if you have further details.
