So which extended warranty actually pays out?

I'm thinking about purchasing a 997.1 TT but don't think I'll be comfortable without a warranty of some kind. Obviously CPO is out for 2007-08 so looking at 3rd party warranties. Seeing a lot of complaints online about many of the companies finding multitudes of reasons not to pay on claims. So which ones will actually pay for blown turbos, leaking cooling pipes, spun cams, defective spoilers, etc. Personal experience with any these particular issues? Thanks for any help.

997.1 turbo is arguably one of the most reliable cars Porsche ever built. Mezger engine. My new to me car arrives tomorrow- less warranty. 34k miles and with a complete history & no bad over revs. I have never had a good experience, nor do I know anyone who has been saved from a bad purchase w a 3rd party warranty.

Do your homework, ppi, and keep your money for maintenance or mods. (imho)

In my opinion get the warranty as any fixes on these cars is crazy expensive. I bought the Fidelity warranty and so far it has paid out much more that I paid for the warranty. They have never given me an issue, but you have to have a mechanic or dealer that is willing to work with you and them.

Also, be aware that for any repair over $750 they will send out a tech to inspect the part/car and as I said thus far I did not have any issues. Some of the problems they paid for so far: All three front radiators, alternator, horn, and some others that I don't remember.

IMHO, I would also recommend a warranty. I got a fidelity platinum as soon as my CPO ran out last November..I have yet to use it but plenty of people on here have had many repairs done by them..
As 512bb stated, when things go wrong it adds up fast.. I had the camshaft issue 2 months before my CPO ran out.. If it had been 2 months later and I didn't have the fidelity I would have been looking at a 9K repair bill..
