Definitely enticing!!! Thanks for sharing the video. I have heard it a few times and man....the sound is intoxicating!!!

As much as I would like to pull the trigger on this mod, I'm recouping funds from the car purchase. The vette I traded-in had more exhaust sound than the Turbo S even at low speeds. It was a 6 speed and easier to manipulate. With the Turbo, high rpms make the engine sing softly and the turbos spool. However, you're doing 75mph before you realize it and such speeds are a tad bit difficult to maintain when the posted speed limit is 40mph....lol

I go back and forth on pulling the trigger. Money aside, I would like to do the install myself. I'm a heavy duty DIYer and don't have a window for this yet. I need to work some more first since the past 2 weekends I have been goofing off.

Today I have spent a considerable amount of time checking out jacks and so forth. I need to be able to lift the car. A member on the forum, the rock, has a very nice setup. All of this just leads to more time playing and less time working.

Clear side markers should arrive on Thursday.

If you are in the DFW area, I'm local and have a lift almost identical to therrock's.. Ive DIY'ed a speedtech exhaust, spark plugs/coils, do88 pipes, etc. I'm to the point now where I can have the bumper and intercoolers off in about 35 minutes..

If you decide you want to tackle one of those projects we could setup some time and tackle it in my garage.. LMK..

First off, you found a beauty!

I really liked this post and wanted to say that I know exactly what you have went through. Most of us have to work for what we have, some are better off than others and can easily afford an amazing machine such has the 911 turbo. I was also one of those that had to save for years and trade up with other platforms of cars to finally reach the 997 Turbo, so I can relate!

Like many others have said, enjoy the car and be careful of the mod bug.

Love the illustrations...is that Leonardo Dicaprio from "The Wolf of Wall Street?"

I can definitely see how modding these cars adds up fast!!! Parts are not cheap and from what i can tell, shops charge between $100 and $150 per hour for labor.

Still, I want to get to know the car before other mods. It is CPO for 2 years and I don't want to jeopardize that. Plus, I got the Turbo S thinking, "this should tide me over" for a while. Given the 20 miles I have put on the car, I can already tell it is night and day from the vette I had. Performance definitely waaay up!

Thanks! As I continue to see the car in my shop those yellow brake calipers pop out at me and remind me I actually own a Turbo now. The look of the car and the color combo makes me smile more and more everyday.

Yes, there is nothing like hard work to help one fully appreciate any achievement. From ages 1 to 5, my family had a successful night club. After parents splitting, it was a bit rough. Didn't have a lot growing up. Even after graduating from college, I didn't make much. However, perseverance, determination, strategic planning, and the Lord's favor all brought me to where I am today. As nice as the car is, the deal is even better. Definitely received a lot of favor from the dealer and even the entire transport of my trade and the Turbo. My co-worker asked me yesterday, "So, traded the vette for the Porsche?" "Yes," I said grinning from ear to ear. "Is it everything you dreamed it would be?" "Yes, and actually, then some. I was going to buy a Turbo, but then this Turbo S came along and everything worked out and I am just floooored!"

I share that to convey this, all the years I spent building up to this purchase were well worth the wait. I was very concerned that after spending so much money on this toy that I would have buyer's remorse and lose the enthusiasm that maintained my internal drive. At this point, I'm still a little shocked and very grateful. Car feels right, drives even better, and I'm all smiles

Someone posted "amazing what a nice car does to the soul..."
With this Turbo, I can definitely vouch for that.

Cheers!

aaaaah...car looks sooo much better!!! Now the only yellow/amber i see are the brake calipers.

Install was relatively easy, although i goofed the clip on the first side marker. hint, beginning at the front most tip of the side marker push the tip back toward the rear of the car. there is a clip behind the side marker that can be compressed and allows you to remove the side marker. despite the multiple videos i saw, i failed to realize this...after i broke the driver side clip, i figured it out. apart from that, my led connector just connected where the stock bulb connected into its socket and presto! Led lights with clear lenses. Definitely will enjoy the ride tomorrow!

Cheers!

I drove this tory to work this morning and those directional headlights are AWESOME!!!!

They actually turn in the direction you are steering and keep it well lit....not just some marketing ploy!!!

Also, I decided to use the sport mode this morning. Car is totally different in this mode than in normal mode. As many others have commented, the pdk shifts faster, throttle response is much more noticeable, and the exhaust sound changes. The increased speed and exhaust note are my favorite! I couldn't really feel a "firmer" suspension.
Getting back to the exhaust, I decided to floor it and man....I heard turbos whistling...not loud, but had not heard this before. Definitely a noticeable sound in sport mode. Makes it seem you can 'turn on/off' exhaust at the push of a button. The exhaust and idle was also more noticeable. Had a raspy/light bark to it....idk how to describe it other than, I'm loving it!
