why do you have to send your cores in if they use only new cores to begin with?

Not sure about the rebuild part. Searched the companies noted to find nothing with 997 rebuilds.

I lost a turbine last fall. Far as I understand, the VTG's are not rebuildable if the turbine cartridge has damage. My exhaust turbine shaft disconnect so I may have an extreme situation.

Anyways, maybe I should have ran them just before failure and sent in for a core exchange resulting in someone's future failure. "I got 68's but only lasted a week."

Think twice before buying someone else's problem. A remachined housing cost how much?

I would ditch VTG's altogether. They are a bloody nuisance.

I disagree with most of the thread post, rebuild your VTGS and teach everyone how to do so. If cost effective, now upgrade.

dangeris is infamous around these parts
So who makes the 997.1 turbo and whats the turbo model? Is there a rebuild kit for them instead of sending them in? If so, who has them?

Thanks TT.BRN. Mine needs to get rebuilt. I've been reading a 63.5mm would be the best option. Does anyone on here have experience in this?

I have no experience with blouch or rebuilt VTG's..... but in general automotive turbocharging it's worth the cost for a new turbo at $2300, if that price is real, instead of risking a rebuild, given the effort required to change a turbo on this car.
