Can't figure this out - P1095
Hi guys, looking for some thoughts/experience on a problem i've been experiencing for a long time now.
My car continues to throw the following code P1095. Background - never had the code before modifying the vehicle. In April i pinned the coolant pipes on my car and performed quite a bit of airflow mods while the engine was out. I also tuned the car with a Cobb accessport. Since that time I have seen this code pop up repeatedly, typically when i am out on fun runs, but it will appear even when putzing around in traffic... Engine Performance Mods: Do88 boost intake hoses IPD plenum and Y pipe 82mm TB Evoms IC and IC hoses stage 2 Cobb Tune (custom dyno tune) BBI barcode full exhaust (200 cell cats) Since this code has appeared I have tried the custom dyno tune, the OTS map for stage 1 and 2, and OEM and the code continues to appear. In my research, it seems conventional wisdom is that there is increased airflow and the car can't comprehend the changes, however i would expect and it seems others agree that the custom tune should be able to account of this. Yet the code continues... I have exchanged some emails and thoughts with Mitch on this and he has been helpful. He doesn't believe it is related to the tune and it's outside of my knowledge base so i will go with that. However, it seems to me the tune should be able to account for the increased airflow if that is indeed what is causing the code so i am still curious... It has become quite a nuisance and I am looking to see if anyone else has had a similar experience and what was the culprit or if anyone has some ideas of things to look at. https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...1cce408c10.jpg https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...5793e3d1ed.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...89da8f85cc.jpg I have already removed the MAS and cleaned that. I do not run an aftermarket air filter (no oiled filter) Any thoughts?! Thanks in advance guys! |
This code can and should be corrected in the software

What about going back completely stock including tune and diagnose starting from that baseline? Adding each mod one by one. With all the mods, it's tough to identify.

Did you check the do88 hoses are connected tight to the maf's. I had one not completely seal on the bottom. Also check that the small hose that connects to the left side hose didn't come off. It's really hard to see.

Something doesn't sound right, you have a stage 2 Cobb tune but are running a stock exhaust?? Your progression thread only indicates that you have aftermarket Fabspeed tips but not exhaust (unless I read that wrong). If I'm not mistaken, stage 2 tunes are usually matted with a free flowing exhausts (200 cell cats or less)...talk to Mitch about this, you might need an exhaust upgrade to make it all work. See below thread, you are not alone.

Kricci, I have similar mods and experienced similar issues until I hard reset my system. My errors were related to a intake leak and wouldn't go away even with using durametric to erase them.
This may sound stupid but, disconnect your battery. Connect the + to the - looping the system without the battery. I have all mods that your running except the 82 throttle body and have run the Cobb stage 3 OTS and custom map with no issue. I now run 3 inch no cats with alpha Intercoolers and still no errors. I would think I have more air to move with my setup but, the 82 may be "throttling" my error. |

That is an unusual code and has to do with MAF sensor reading to throttle plate angle plausibility. Are you sure you are running a map that is calibrated for your throttle body? I just did a little research and your aren't alone in your code issues with the TB and plenum that you have. Some people reported it improving or resolving after replacing the MAF, but I think that is more of a bandaid. Who is doing your custom cobb tuning?

I will give that a try and see how that goes. I'll also triple check all the connections again.
I had boost leak tested it many times (from the air box and turbos), but never saw the problem, with engine cold, on a lift. Long story short, every vacuum line was replaced, and zip tied. Problem solved. |

Appreciate you digging in though to try and help - i am hoping to not have a bandaid. I want it resolved... its become a rather annoying nuisance.

I chased a problem like this on my 996tt. After lots of go rounds, I found a boost leak. The theory was a vacuum line was stretched and would gap open a tiny bit when the engine shifted under load.

Update:
Did a leak test last night and everything seemed to be good. Regardless we went over all the connections again and retightened. There was one connection that didn't have as good of a connection so we did reconfigure the hose position and clamped it super tight again. It was the driver side top intercooler hose. Of course - the one that requires bumper removal to get to! Hopefully that helps or solves the issue. Reset the code last night and will see how we go. |
Have this problem for over 4 years since I did similar upgrades to those posted (IPD Y-pipe, 82mm TB, IPD plenum) using a VR tune. The code would come up several times each week, never under specific driving conditions. It took 3 years of diagnosis, including multiple leak checks and replacing both MAFs before I found one of the bands connecting the plenum to the intact was not fully seated in the groove on the intake. The code did not show up for over a year after fixing this problem.
The code come back again this year......3 times since April. It never occurs under heavy load or on lift, it happens at random times while cruising at less than 50 mph. I ran 2 days at Watkins Glen with the car, no codes on trip or at track. I am back to the same process of elimination for all connections, so far nothing. |
Bringing this thread back up. Did you guys ever get the P1095 code mystery cleared up? I'm in similar position. Just put in new intercoolers, y pipe, plenum and throttle bottle along with upgraded turbos. I'm starting to get the P1095 code. Only comes on under normal driving/putting around. Shop has pressure texted the whole setup up to 25 psi and did a gas check. All connections appear to be solid. Shop suggested it might be the diverter valves but I don't want to replace those if I don't need to. I've talked to Sam who did my tune and we don't believe it's in the tuning. Just reaching out to see if others have chased this down.
