Hi all,

Just figured I'd share my results for posterity.

Wannagofast 1/2 mile - French Lick muni airport.

DA started around 1900 in the morning climbing to 2300ish by 2pm or so.

Only did 3 runs by choice.
158.8
158.9
159.3

First run hard launch...wheel spin.
2nd run not so hard...wheel spin and bounced the limiter in 1st...oops.
3rd run...softer launch...bogged...shifted at 6500 vs redline in the first two.

Quick recap on my car.
2008 TT 6MT, E85 Cobb protune by Sam, inlet pipes, 3" Kline catless. Sam felt like we could get another safe 25hp on the top end but I had him leave it alone.
Stock turbos, stock intercoolers, stock suspension. No weight reduction other than exhaust.

Great event, great people...had a blast!
Only saw one other Porsche turbo run and never had a chance to talk to the owner.

Wish I had a VBOX or even a GoPro to a share...have to wait till next time!

Twin turbo Gallardo ran 219+, and a hot rod classic Camaro ran 202+ all motor!!!

Best

Tom

seems like the asphalt runways are really hard to get traction on. my buddy was there with his red 335 and he ran 2 mph slower than clayton ga with 3000 less d/a. ocala has the same issues

Yeah, not sure if the traction was good/bad vs concrete as this is the only half mile I've run. I will say that their runway was as smooth as a baby's bottom though. I could've sipped a cup of tea, pinky out, during the runs.

Brief clip my wife took from the finish line.
Crappy quality and it doesn't mean anything but figured I'd share.
Other car is a C7 Z06 with unknown (if any) mods.

You did awesome Tom and the car is consistent bud. You are essentially a stage 2 and that's movin out! A tad quicker then the new 991.2 turbo S's. Glad you had a good time and it was a pleasure working with you as usual!

I think Eric has the best speed on stock turbochargers at 165. All he has over you is intercoolers. We will shoot for that next.

Tom the numbers you got look solid for the parts you have. Video wasn't bad either, thumbs up to your wife. You can't go wrong with Sam in your corner.

Are you running stock injectors?

Thanks! I'm happy with the performance...of course...now I want to go faster!
Sams been great to work with as always.

I'm running ID1000's.

The mods I did, I consider no brainers....very easy to do with little downside impact and not much need to consider "balance".
When I start thinking about things like intercoolers, bigger turbos, plenums, ypipes..etc....I think you have to consider flow, pressure drops, spool time..etc. Personally, I don't believe those changes are "no brainers" as they can impact other characteristics of the way the car behaves.

Maybe intercoolers are closest to an easy decision but what if I put massive AMS coolers on with stock turbos? Will I lose boost response? If I couple that with bigger Y pipes and GT3 TB does responsiveness get hit? I suppose I need to really figure out how I want to go faster and the answer becomes apparent.

Not bad considering you did that on the awful stock intercoolers. I bet your intake air temps were in the 180s at least by the end of that run, haha.

Get some intercoolers ASAP. You are overthinking it. You don't need AMS ICs for your setup unless you want every last drop of performance, or you road race a lot. Even the factory 997.2/GT2 intercoolers are a massive upgrade over what you have now.

Haha yeah, on the 991's we see 200! Aside from temperature flow is a huge one. Which is a major contributing factor of why that IATs get up so quick. The turbos are working harder.
