2008 997.1 T Alpha 10 upgrade, or something different?

Hey guys, I'm thinking about treating myself this year and picking up a 997.1 and bumping it up to street killer status.

I've been looking into the AMS alpha 10 kit, but haven't found much information about it or other builds.

Do you guys think this would be a solid way to go, or is there a better way to go for similar gains?

Thank you

The AMS stuff is very nice, but vendor "kits" generally come with some bundle tax. You could probably source parts from a few different sources or PM Silly Rabbit Motorsports about a bolt-on setup with his intercoolers and BW EFR turbos. However, it's also very nice knowing that when AMS sends you the kit, you've got nearly everything (exhaust, clutch) you'll need to complete the install.

That's what I was kind of thinking. I ideally want to keep this project in the 100-150k price range. With my dealership connections, I'm pretty sure I can pick up a 997.1T for ~50k which gives me play room for the upgrades.

I want to do an efficient setup to get me up to those numbers.

I might be wrong, but my understanding that going over 800hp would require engine mods as rods can't handle that amount of power, so the kit will give you power, but the engine itself can't handle it well without extra mods.

Its true. Going beyond (real) 750-800 HP requires some changes. Even Alpha states the clutch won't make it. But it is not only the clutch. Piston, pulleys, cylinderhead and -cooling, bla, bla will need an upgrade.
When doing all these upgrades it makes sense to go up to 4 liters. Then you end up with 1200HP.
