997.2TT front bumper side grilles

So I'm waiting on delivery of my new (to me) 997.2TT 6 speed. One thing that bothers me on the gen 2 is the gray color on the bumper side grilles. I prefer the black plastic slats on the 997.1TT. I just got off the phone with a suncoast rep who told me the black ones from the first gen bumper would not fit my bumper. Is this true? Is my only option painting them? I really rather not as it'll constantly be chipping... thanks in advance.

Best,
Barrett

Plasti-dip or Duplicolor custom Wrap (not actually a wrap but a spray).

I've used both on smaller parts and it looked and held up pretty well. You won't even have to remove the parts.

Guess that's my only option. Appreciate the help. Thank you.

Did you remove them before Plastidipping? If so, do you need to remove the bumper? Thanks.

I did not. I taped off everything except the gills, and I used paper to cover the radiators. I did have the advantage of a lift that allowed me to work at eye level. Not a great pic, but...
