Hello All,

Just bought a 2007 Turbo and my cel came on with a error code p0050 which is the pre cat oxygen sensor on the driver side. I replaced the sensor with new bosch sensor and cleared the code. However, the check engine light keeps coming back on for the same error code, p0050.

Any ideas on what could be causing the cel to come back on?

did you replace both sensors or just one side? Might help to uplug the battery and re-connect to let the DME re-learn.

I only replaced the driver side pre cat sensor as that is what the p0050 code directed me to.

I did not try to re connect the battery since i had the dealer clear the cel. I am assuming the battery re connect to reset the DME/ECU is a bit different than just clearing the cel light??

I will try this tomorrow and follow up.

Thanks!

I tried re connecting the battery. It cleared the cel, drove 20 minutes or more, restarted the engine half hour later and cel back on.

Thinking there could be a leak somewhere. Odd that the same error code is coming on after replacing the o2 sensor.

Any thoughts and/or ideas??

Much appreciated!

Maybe the new sensor you installed is faulty or you didn't connect the wire securely or torqued the new sensor down
