Problems with PCM.1
After buying a good multimeter and removing fuses one by one I have determined that the continuous power draw is coming from my NAV DVD drive. I unplugged it but I believe nothing else will work if the MOST loop isn't completed.
Is there any way I could just not use the NAV and somehow circumvent it?
I also worked for almost an hour to simply remove the DVD unit to examine it and I cannot figure out how to get it out!! I see two pink tabs that look like they have to be compressed with a tool to remove it. But I would think the whole unit would detach from the firewall somehow.
I would just rip it out by I always try to think of resale value and how the next owner would want me to treat my car........
so im pretty sure I've bought a new PCM unit for no reason but we'll see.

I have an early 2005 and when I turn the car off, the damn thing never shuts off. You can just hear static in the speakers and the CD in the dash cycling every 15 seconds. If there is no disc, every 15 seconds you can hear the tray mechanism try and load a disc (which is how I found the problem). I am not sure about the DVD drive in the frunk, didn't check it.
Worst case I buy a new PCM and code it to the car, but I also have the oldest Bose amp which could be part of the problem - I am like you and want things to look mostly stock and not huge on audio.
Just wanted to ask, since your post was pretty recent.
