Help needed

Hi Everyone,

Hate to say this but, I will be putting my car up for sale soon. I have reverted it back to almost stock. I still have 1000cc injectors and a Cobb tune (Stage 1) that works with the stock setup.

Car is Basalt Black Metallic with full black leather interior powered by a 6 Speed transmission.

Car sold for $131,000 new.

Aftermarket options are GT3 roll bars rear, GT2 roll bars front. RSR arms in the rear and (rear) Cup arms in front using correct shimming. I'll get the car aligned to factory spec prior to sale. Car has coolant pipes welded and RS 4.0 single stage clutch with GT3 shifter links and assembly.

Car has 62,000 mi on it.

Do these mods help the sale or, do they hurt it? I have the stock parts but, I'm complicating the cost for removal and installation.

I need to disclose any changes out of stock spec for personal reasons.

Any advice would be helpful.

Thanks,

Rat3d M is infamous around these parts
Personally I would put the car 100% back to stock. I am a modder, always have been, and I've always sold my cars modded, but I found you make more money back selling the parts separate, and with a car like this, there are more purists than people who appreciate mods, so the car will fetch more in stock form.

The Accessport is what, $1300 on the used market? Plus the injectors? That's $1500 in your pocket on top of selling as is, plus if you market it as a bone stock 997 you might get a couple thousand more out of it from someone who doesn't want to deal with a modded car.

If I ever sell mine (it will be a long time, she is a keeper) I am going to put it back to stock first and sell the aftermarket parts separate. It really is the best way.

Thanks Rat3d M,

I agree with you and sold a lot of parts already. I think I'm down to the part where i would need to pay someone to remove them.

Replacing the injectors just sounds painful with the configuration we have. Unfortunately, this drives me to leaving the tune on the car with the injectors.

If marketability is affected by the tune, then I will invest on the removal.

Personally, i look for a car that has only a few mods. Sometimes the most invasive mod may be dice on the rear-view mirror. Obviously that easily corrected where my scenario is not.

Thanks for your input though. I agree with you.
