Repair/Restore Yellow Deviated Stitching

Hey guys, I have yellow stitching on my interior and some spots are pretty faded compared to others. I wasn't sure if someone had any ideas on how to restore the color without having to re-stitch. I was thinking of maybe trying some yellow dye or something. Has anyone done this before and have any recommendations?

Thanks,

I have read somewhere where it's as simple as finding a yellow marker and touching it up yourself. Seriously.

Is it faded or dirty?

Try the following in an inconspicuous area, before your ready to re-stitch anyway.

I think I would try some water based carpet shampoo / spotter on a rag, and scrub with a soft tooth brush. Rinse with distilled water. Use a carpet spot extractor if you have one, to vacuum out the dirty water, or Blot gently with a white terry towel or light color MF and see if the dirt is coming off. If it is, continue and let it dry to see what you have once its totally dry. Then perhaps a yellow marker or dye.

If you have a steamer perhaps try that first, its chemical free and no rinsing required.

I would try the above before you re-stitch. Perhaps call and upholstery shop.

I have off white deviated stitching on a natural grey leather interior (looks light black or charcoal) and I used a product like scotch guard on the stitching from day one, and so far so good. I clean with mild cleaner and reapply yearly. Most recently using Gyeon Fabric protector on the stitching and mats. Its OK but I'm looking for a better product for next time. Thinking about trying nanolex fabric protector. My buddy just put some on his ragtop and its looking really good. I will see how it lasts. I usually to this stuff at the end of the season.

Good luck!
