I can’t find it any where to buy the ring that snap in to keep it in place. Thought about using a spring and cut it to fit but the oem seems to be stronger/better quality then what I could make. Surly don’t want to risk it. Please if anyone know where I could get one let me know. I really don’t want to go buy complete left side for just a clip. Thanks
That part is in any CV Boot Kit I have purchased. If you acquired one, it should have been there. Depending on the axle involved I see part 900 041 011 01 for a circlip on a front drive shaft.
I looked at the PET and the location of the circlip image (#9 below) referenced by the above part number is on the inside, though my guess is it would be the same part at either end of the shaft. However I am not certain of that fact.
I just looked at your pictures. Are you sure that is the inner circlip that is broken? It looks like the outer one which should be the one in the boot kit.
Yes, been looking for this circlip online like crazy but can’t find it. Called multiple dealers and order multiple clips too. I guess I will have to run around to some parts store and see if anyone would have one. Only thing that makes me worry is this Clip seems to be tempered so I just can’t get any kind that just would fit.
So if that is the clip inside the outside boot the only place I have found it is with a boot kit from porsche and it's a two boot kit listing for $150. I left a message for my local parts guy, if I get an answer I will post.
