Porsche is stupid?

in my eyes what i read at rennteam.

in the official specs. The tiptronic is faster from 0-60mph than the manual and the manual is faster at topspeed that the tiptronic cause the gear- ratio.

why is porsche doing that??? That sucks they had to wait to publish the 997TT and just finish the PDK. That will be maybe fast as the tiptronic.

One of the most profitable car compnaies in the world = far from stupid

Persoanlly I will still get a 6speed b/c I just can't bare to own a 911 turbo with a auto-tranny, when PDK comes out if it has f1 paddles a-la ferrari i may change my tune...

Only time will tell my friend!

So what is the problem? If you are about absolute speed, get the tiptronic. If you are after driving pleasure, get the 6speed. That simple

Sorry, but somehow I feel that the targeted customer for the 997TT will be that worried about traffic light grand prix.

in most high performance cars auto's are faster because they are more consistent and leave far less room for driver error in a straight line. I think sharky's car has proven that. Driving a manual isn't about being the fastest all the time. And remember, you'd much rather have a manual on a track of on a spirited road because the auto's won't hold a gear like you'll be able to control w/ the manual.
