Hello guys, I have 06 c4s but having this noise issue, can you plz tell me if this is most likely bore scoring noise?
unfortunately we didn't have ultra wide angle bore scope so we couldn't see the side walls, but cylinder #5 was clean but 6 had soot on the plugs and oil on the piston.

Might be better to post in the 997 non-turbo forums. Sorry I can't be of more help. I do know that 997 non-turbo have Sumebore linings which are susceptible to bore scoring. The 997 turbo Mezgers have Nikasil plated cylinders so they're not prone to bore scoring.

 

Possible, get rid of the car. If its not...get rid of the car. Its a ticking bomb.

 

Hello folks. I just bought a 2006 base 3.6 carrera. Had an oil sample done with no metals or anything else. I frightened about all of the forums with bore scoring. Is the 3.8 more prone to it than the 3.6? Any input is greatly appreciated.
