Need a fuel pump pigtail or repair

How can I fix this? Any idea where I could source the pigtail or how to repair this? I know how to splice above the rot, but I don’t know how to secure the wire inside of the pigtail. Would really appreciate any help.

Found this under a nest under the plastic cap covering the fuel pump top under the plastic frunk cover. Late last summer, the fuel level sensor stopped working and I slept on it over the winter. Just watched the odometer and kept it full. Then the car wouldn’t take fuel. So started trying to access the charcoal canisters to fix the breathing. The nest material was a little bit of a surprise.

Found a nest under the frunk while trying to fix a fuel issue. Fuel sensor stopped working last summer, then the car wouldn’t take gas. Turned out a blocked vent, and surprise nest, was likely the cause.
