2009 Gen 1.5 broken conrod

Well,

997 Gen 1.5 manual, 40k miles, based in Dublin Ireland, have owned the car for 5 years, broken conrod during a Durametric log.

Engine took a decent hit, suspected hydro lock due to injector failure. Case and crank goosed. Top end ok, bottom end not so lucky.

3.9 forged build commencing with the help of Todd at Protomotive and DOB in Dublin.

The aim = Future proofed Mezger, running between 700-750bhp on 95 Octane.

Car is purely fast road.

Rebuild starting soon and will be documented on the Instagram below

Yes, ouch is one way to describe it.

Tuned by 9E for about two years prior to issue.

Was in 4th gear taking Durametric logs at the time, so was full throttle in 4th gear, let go just as boost was building.
