Tony (FL) is infamous around these parts
A 997S wouldn't be close to a stock SL55. I have owned both and the Benz is WAY faster in any straight line acceleration test. My 01 996TT was a closer match to the SL.

The SL55 and 997s run the quartermile in the 12-13s range; stock to stock .. these cars are quite close.

I have seen a few dyno sheets for E55 K2's and they are around 440 - 470 RWHP. Are you sure you did not mean "Flywheel" HP?
K2 will give you 585+- at the crank, not the wheels.

The S is closer to a high 12, the SL55 is a low to mid 12. It will definitely work the S in any straight line test! Throw a few curves in and it is a different ballgame.

Not a lot different though. Appears to be 1 second difference around the ring.

There is a huge difference in both braking and handling between the two IMO, but I'm getting way off topic from the original thread.

No we were not talking E55's but having owned one (and driven SL's many times) they are close enough for me to comment vis a vis it's performance against a 997S
