toddbee is an unknown quantity at this point
I would get the 6 speed. I also heard the tip is fastet because the computer is dialed in to make more boost then the 6speed. Not sure if this is true.

Unfortunately when the 7 Speed DSG comes out, Manual will be shot down, I dont know of many people who can shift faster than ~0.13ms

Thus the auto will soon be far superior...

A mate of mine owns a 06' VW Jetta with the new 6 speed DSG, I was honestly impressed by the sheer speed of gear changes, included with launch controll, perfect launches and shifts every time

I'd go manual, especially if you'll be upgrading in the future

My manual arrived about six weeks ago and I've never looked back.

I would go for a 6-speed or wait for the PDK .. Tip resale prices are going to go downhill quick once its released.

6-speed with a short shift (which is no longer offered by the factory, the short shift kit I mean!) --
I love mine...

If you talk to the drivers who have track driven them both at the European Launch......unanimously they chose the Tip. I spoke to 4. I am a manual die hard and after my research I ordered a tip, some what reluctantly. The common thread was that you can not enjoy how really quick this car is in the manual. And yes it is true that the tip will bring higher resale due to the limited availability. Because the car that I have on order is a Tip I have been offered 10K more than I paid if I were to sell it. This would not hapen with the manual. I hope these people are correct because I have 147K banking on it. Either way it will be great! Make a decision and don't look back.

It might hold it value now. However, if PDK is released for the 997tt; then prices are going to go downhill.
