which gearbox did you guys chose for your 911 turbo??
i know the auto is faster 0-60 becaue it gives the car better turbo spooling time etc...
but which one would you guys chose?

I'd go for the......quite sure manual but considering the fact I've driven auto once and in a horrible car, I'd like to see how the auto performs!

I wouldn't go by which car is faster when deciding auto or manual. They're both fast. A better question is how often you'll be driving and where you'll be driving. If you'll be driving the car everyday to work in bumper to bumper traffic, then auto might be a good choice. If you plan on taking it out 1-2 times per week for some fun, then manual would be a good choice. It's a very subjective question, and you'll hear many different opinions.

If I bought a TT, it would have to be manual.

Benjamin Choi will become famous soon enough
an automatic 997 TT will become the bastard child of the series

unless you don't have a functional left leg, get the manual

6 speed all the way unless you commute in it. Actually, only if your commute features a lot of bumper to bumper stop and go type driving would I consider a slushbox.

Seriously I agree.. I don't think any porsche besides the Cayenne should come in an auto let alone the porsche turbo and a sports car in general. As it is now, the clutch is so soft that its almost like an automatic LOL!

There is something that a manual will ALWAYS have over ANY other type of transmission. There is something about the manual that keeps you connected much better than anything else.

And that's the damm truth, even the F1, SMG gearboxes and so on aren't involving like a manual car!

Me personally I would always go with a manual. However, from speaking to people that have driven both I'm hearing that the tip feels stronger and faster all around! That also comes from a Porsche Tech here that is a very good friend of mine. So I guess I'd have to drive them both first and then kick myself later if I chose the tip!
