jlingk is infamous around these parts
where on the streets are you going to actually utilize the GT3's power? At 5-6k rpm, where the car's muscle is, you will be doing well in excess of the speed limit. waste as a daily street driver in my opinion.

way more driver involvement. i have driven a 996 gt3 and got out of the car with a smile on my face that i couldn't remove. even though the tt may be faster, but i think the enjoyment may be worth it.

Agreed, and that also play's a role on the driver and what type of person he is once again. I mean someone can hop in a stock 996tt and have the same enjoyment of a GT3 owner and the way he feels about the GT3!You will really have to drive both back to back or just in general to be honest with you, not off our opinions or magazines. For instance I bought the 996tt, but the thrill after a week was not there, especially coming from a track setup M3, it was more then just brute power and acceleration I was after. Now seeing what it took to make me crack a smile and be like wow this car is insane, was me trying to make it like a GT car or better lol!Goodluck once again. Martin

do you like your car Martin??? You seem to just be against it nowadays...

I dont mean this offensively AT ALL...but maybe you should track THIS car more often and realize what it brings to the table. (If you have tracked it alot...I am COMPLETELY sorry and disreguard this!)

NP man, but I think your not understanding why I mentioned what I did, basically to test drive both thoroughly to make the best decision for himself. I loved my turbo stock, modded, throughout the stages and so on, but didn't love it for what I wanted, this was mainly track or hard aggressive driving, the car merely gave me driver response or thrill on hard spirited driving or whatever. I haven't by any means tracked A LOT, but a few good days I have. that's why I mentioned I had to change a lot of components for me to finally be extremely happy with how it performs, its mostyl suspension setups and things along those lines, not motorwork or power!I will be doing a few days before winter hits, already have a few track days lined up, hope you understand where I'm coming from. I was a GT2 guy or buyer but bought a 996tt, this was the whole main point of my post's, not to complain but rather to make people realize hey, if you want an awd everyday beast 996tt is that, if you want heart pumping thrills and track feel all out everytime you get into it GT2/GT3.

I know what ya mean man. But I come from a moderately different side...I was also the GT2/3 person BUT...i found the compromise the 996tt btw the gt3 and the completely unaffordable for me gt2...also, as im sure you have now experienced...after you change out a couple of things (like the shocks in particular), the 996tt becomes a bit more connected...

Anyway, cant wait to start tracking this car and hopefully we can coordinate a track day with Mussell Kar

Of course man, I never said I hated the 996tt, I absolutely LOVE it, but in a car that was replacing my M3, it was hard to get use to! And as I mentioned it took some good modifications to get it to my likings, now I love it to death, even more then before, I guess I just want the real gt2, why I don't know, oh well not a biggie! I also cannot wait to go to the track with a few of you Porsche guys, I've gone with my viper friends and club really that's it Martin

I know what you mean when you say it was tough going from the M to the TT...but that aint fair! haha...the M to date when on coilovers is THE most precise car I have ever driven and the 996tt did feel a bit bland in comparison...but i went for the overall performance on this guy rather then the feel...but atleast I can go back to the M if I need a knife blade fix...

Haha exactly, not fair and hard to compare a stock turbo to fully built m3, but it was interesting. Now with coilovers and sways dialed in, they feel similar, except 996tt does feel heavier on initial turn in, my turbo isn't that heavy but the m3 was pretty stripped, slammed and rollcage, oh well all of these cars are a lot of fun and amazing

H+R coilovers and GT3 adjustable Swaybar's (need some droplink's though), those were the major difference! Along with some good power, no sunroof and some weight reduction car feels really good, i like it, also RWD made the biggest difference in feel! Im going JIC Cross Coilover 8/12kg setup, i cannot wait

Yea got them! "Thay have three track days left this year. Sept 5, sold out. NHIS on Oct 20 and back at Lime Rock on Nov 3"

5th is obviously too late, but i'll do the rest, and yea we stayed at that place the times i went!
