Tone of engine in sport mode

Has anyone else noticed the tone change of the engine/exhaust when the sport mode is engaged? Sounds louder than in normal mode.

its that way on the 997 c4s aswell. they used to have an option (that i have on my x50) that would do the same thing. sounds nice!

There is no flap on the TT. The 996 and 997NA cars have them. The TT more or less uses the 996TT muffler turned upside down!

All 997s have exhaust flaps? I never noticed a difference whether in sport or normal on my 997S. Since adding the PSE, there is a difference but that definitely does have a exhaust flap. I did read somewhere there is an intake flap though. I think it was on the Fabspeed website where they provide info about their intake kit.

On the cars with Chrono NA only there is a valve in the exhaust that opens up at idle and low RPMs. It is then closes up at high RPMs to reduce drone. There is a flap in the exhaust that simply bypasses a few baffles.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o>

Ah, I see. Does the PSE have the same valve? I only ask because it seems that my PSE exhaust is quieter than non-PSE when it's in quiet mode. I may be wrong because I can't really remember what it sounded like with the regular exhaust, it just surprises me that it's so quiet.
