That is not so much of an improvement to me. I am beginning to think I should have just scooped up a GT2.

Keep in mind that it was 98f that night. My GT2 only trapped at 129 that night. Todd's run was the 2nd highest trapspeed that night next to me (out of about 80-90 cars)

yes it is. remember this, the 11.4@120 was on a cold, snowy, and icy night. plus it wasnt broken in, none of the tests have had the turbo broken in and in one test side by side with the new z06 the turbo and it both ran an 11.7@121 mph. same conditions same driver etc. a broken in turbo will run 123-124 mph. thats a good improvement over the 116-118 trap for the 996TT.

whatever happened to mid 11s stock? This isn't going to beat (or even tie) a z06.

Wellllll, the car is still very new! One of the first 997tt test's ever was in icey freezing weather, where they pulled an 11.4 1.4 miles! Its definitely capable under good conditions and with an excellent driver, but the trap speed still lacks what it take's to pull a Z06 on the highway unfortunately! There was a whole thread about this a few months back

Yes, but this thing seems tapped out stock. And I don't plan on getting railed by a z06. And I'm not even going there with regard to the snow test. Sat. clocking in snowy conditions on a turbo car? That test is totally discounted in my opinion. All of the cars seem like they are trapping 118-119. That ain't enough to get a z06 from a roll . . . A viper would probably bury it.

well most of the newer test(count out the 11.4 test) are running it 120-121 mph BONE STOCK NOT BROKEN IN. when broken in, im sure this car will easily pull 123-125 mph trap. that will run with both the z06 and viper. it also is NOWHERE NEAR tapped out stock. its the same engine at the 996TT but with VTG turbos. thats the only real difference in terms of engine. u swap out those turbos for other ones you will pick up huge gains and will easily romp all over z06s and vipers.

you are talking a hugh mph jump 123 - 125 assuming that the other cars weren't broken in. I hope so because I own a viper coupe and just had confirmation on my vin for the turbo, so she should be here by mid october. I'm keeping both but it will suck if I can smoke the turbo with the Viper because I understand the argument that the fit and finish is better and that the Vette is cheaply built, however, that would not carry the day in my opinion. Also, the turbos as I understand it are not readily swapped out.

i guess only time will tell with the tuners putting together stuff for the turbos as we speak. remember this though. the first 997S's only ran like 110-111 mph bone stock. then they broke them in and now most PEOPLE WHO OWN THEM are running 112-113 and one mag traped 115 mph. thats a decent jump right there of 2-3 in most cases. i would think the 997TT could easily pull of 2-3 more mph broken in. masterlu has a 997TT, 06 gallardo and an f430 and says after he broke in the turbo it demolishes the other two. if only he would run at the track and get us a trap speed now. so the turbo is def one that need to be broken in before we make any true judgements on it. i mean martin mentioned that an x50 ran 11.8@123 bone stock!
