And your right, it would have happened with any radar detector.. But who in their right mind would buy anything other than a Valentine??

Thanks for the suggestion on battery tending. With 2 Pcars in the garage and a Harley, It's a very good idea.

+1 on the battery tender. My service guy practically made me buy the Porsche charger/maintainer.

just hard wire the v1 to an ignition on line, in the 996 it takes about 15 minutes to do it. it shouldnt be that hard in the 997TT

when power is off no juice to the v1 . v1 onlyturns on when u trun the motor on

Smile Battery Tender model #

B-Line and whomever, Here are links for the Battery Tender models. I'm pretty sure the one you want is the Battery Tender Junior. It has a 12' output power cord which will certainly be enough to go into the car without the unit itself having to be in the car. You'll have to order the cigarette lighter adapter also but the tender itself is only $19.95 at the first link. The one link is the Battery Tender Company and I think the other links may have better prices.

Hope I helped you get zapped! Mags

B-line,

Definitely hardwire it to switched power. I don't know if you're handy or not, but if you're not post your location and maybe someone will give you a hand or bring it to a repuatble car stereo shop. I've never done a 996 but it's usually pretty easy. In my E46 M3 it was barely a 20 minute job.

Hey Adam,

I'm not very handy when it comes to car electronics. I live in Los Angeles if anyone wants to help out. Offer comes with pizza and beer.

- If not, I'll have a local shop get me wired up. Shouldn't cost me more than $70 at stealer or Al and Ed's or something. I'm just waiting on some replacement parts from Mr. Valentine
