They are painted. The side markers and center brake light are very dark to blend in with the car. The rear tail lights are a little lighter shade.

I bought clear side markers from Eric @ BumperPlugs.com. Spade Kreations (Cincinnati) painted them in layers (to get the right shade) followed by clear coat.

One part Dupont paint to three parts paint reducer.
